Guidance for PPS Membership Approval

Counselling & Psychotherapy (& related Listening / Talking Therapies)

1 - Must be Professionally Qualified

OR

2 - Working under supervision whilst studying Professional Qualifications

OR

3 – Member of a relevant professional body in the country you work

Restricted Professions

(Arts Therapies including – Art Therapy, Drama Therapy & Music Therapy)

1 - Professionally Qualified

OR

2 - Working under supervision whilst studying Professional Qualifications

OR

3 – Member of a relevant professional body in the country you work

AND

4 – This is a Restricted Profession that requires Registration with HPC (UK only)

Restricted Professions

(Psychology)

1 - Professionally Qualified to Hons Degree Level

OR

2 - Working under supervision whilst studying Professional Qualifications at Hons Degree Level

AND

3 – Must be a member of a BPS (UK) or PSI (Ireland)

AND

4 – This is a Restricted Profession that requires Registration with HPC (UK only)

Add on Occupations

(Coaching, Mentoring, Supervision & Training)

1 – Must be combined with either Counselling, Psychotherapy or Psychology

PPS Membership does not include ANY professions that involve physical contact with the clients or use of drugs or aromatherapies.
